Noblesville Schools Board Meeting Highlights, May 19, 2026

Submitted by Noblesville Schools

The school board has responsibility for major district functions including school district governance and oversight, setting school policies, approving funding, strategic planning, and hiring and evaluating the superintendent.

  • The board recognized several groups for outstanding achievements including student art award winners, Miller of the Year support staff winners, music educators for their National Best Music Community award, and wrestling and winter guard students for their historic seasons.
  • Promise Road Elementary presented on how they create a caring and welcoming culture for students and families.
  • Superintendent Dr. Dan Hile presented on the district’s new Hall of Fame. This was an update on the district’s strategic plan element of Celebrated School Culture.
  • Dr. Hile gave a financial update that included analysis and initial thoughts regarding a potential continuation of the district’s operating referendum. The current referendum generates approximately 20 percent of the district’s operating budget and is scheduled to expire at the end of 2026. The board will decide at the June 9 meeting whether to move forward with a community vote on the matter. Watch Dr. Hile’s presentation here, watch Common Referendum Questions here, and visit Dollars + $ense for more information on how Noblesville Schools manages finances.
  • Updated employee and student handbooks were approved.
  • Student consumable material fees for the 2026-2027 school year were approved with many items decreasing in cost for families.
  • The board approved bids for roofing replacements at Hinkle Creek Elementary and Noblesville East Middle School.
