Fishers Freight falls to Sharks

The Fishers Freight dropped a Saturday, May 16 game to the Jacksonville Sharks 68-50 in a Major League of Indoor Football game at the Fishers Event Center.

Dominic Roberto scored three touchdowns for the Freight, totaling 89 yards in eight rushing attempts. Felix Harper threw two touchdowns, both to CJ Windham, and scored a rushing touchdown of his own.

Marcus Gray led the Freight defense with 13 tackles, followed by Jaiden Roe with nine and Brice Bass with seven. Cornelius Montgomery and Vai Kaho each made one tackle for a loss.

The Freight are 5-4 for the season. After splitting their first two games of the season in March, Fishers was undefeated in April by winning all four of their games. The Freight beat the Arizona Rattlers 63-42, the Iowa Barnstormers 63-33, the Tulsa Oilers 40-38 and the Iowa Barnstormers again 53-31.

Since then, the Freight have dropped their last three games, although they have scored over 50 points in all three of them. Fishers has a chance to get its first win in the Month of May when the Freight travels to Jacksonville for a May 30 rematch with the Sharks.

Roberto and Harper are presently the two leading rushers in the IFL. Roberto has rushed for 402 yards, while Harper has gained 396 yards. Roberto also has the most touchdowns in the league with 16. On defense, Marcus Gray has the most total tackles (74) and the most solo tackles (42). Calum Sutherland has the second-most kicking points with 77.
