Fun community-wide effort to support families & children in foster care

This May and June, The Cooper House is inviting families across Hamilton County to be part of something simple, meaningful, and full of purpose: a garage sale!

At The Cooper House, we often say it takes a village, and the truth is, every family needs one. This initiative is a chance for our community to be that village in a tangible, hands-on way.

Our goal is to mobilize 20 driveways across Hamilton County to raise awareness and support for local families and children who are in crisis and/or involved with the child welfare system.

You host a typical garage sale, but the impact is so much more!

Every dollar raised helps create a safe, home-like environment where families are welcome and able to connect, as well as begin to rebuild and restore relationships, where foster children feel safe, loved, and cared for during a traumatic transition, and where individuals who are in crisis can find a judgement free zone where they receive encouragement, prayer, resources, and support in their time of need.

Hosting is easy and it’s meant to be fun! Gather your family, invite neighbors or friends, and make it a full experience. Add a concession stand, get your kids involved, and turn it into a meaningful way to serve together.

The Cooper House will come alongside you with a Garage Sale Host Guide and Digital Toolkit to make it simple, and we’ll help promote your sale through our social media channels. You can donate your proceeds (minus any personal costs if needed), knowing it’s going directly to support families and children right here in Hamilton County.

Clear out that garage! Purge from within your home! Make it fun and invite your people to join in! Let’s show up for one another! Let’s choose to be part of the village that every family deserves. Let’s ensure families and children in our community are seen, heard, chosen, and loved.
