Last night, the Hamilton Heights Huskies baseball team played the second of a two-game series with Tipton, this time on the road.

After edging the Blue Devils 5-4 in Arcadia on Tuesday, Tipton returned the favor to split the series with a 4-2 win over Heights.

The Blue Devils grabbed a 3-0 lead early with two in the first and a run in the second.

PJ Wright hit a one-out double in the top of the third and Dillon Pitts followed with a walk for two on. Landon Hickman drove in Wright with a ground out to short to cut it to 3-1.

The deficit was narrowed to 3-2 in the fifth. This time, Hickman hit a sacrifice fly to score Austin Kappes.

Tipton grabbed an insurance run in the home half of the fifth to account for the 4-2 final.

Both teams had eight hits. Heights was led at the plate by Wright’s 3-for-4 night, along with Tyson Upchurch getting two hits in his three at-bats.

It’s a quick turnaround for Hamilton Heights (4-6) as they head to the northwest side of Indianapolis to face Brebeuf Jesuit (2-8) tonight at 6 p.m.
