As the college year continues on, Foster Success is once again bringing the community together to support young people with lived experience in foster care.

Last Friday, Feb. 13, volunteers from Radiological Care Services and the Tom and Julie Wood College of Osteopathic Medicine of Marian University joined Foster Success to assemble care packages for Indiana college students in the Education and Training Voucher (ETV) Program.

For many college students, care packages from home are a familiar comfort. However, many ETV participants do not have that built-in support system. Foster Success helps bridge that gap by providing care packages filled with snacks, school supplies, and practical essentials. The new care packages being boxed up will include a puzzle cube, snacks, and an encouragement card.

Foster Success provides the items included in each package, while volunteers contribute their time and energy to ensure every student receives encouragement as they continue through the semester.

“We are so grateful for these two groups taking time out of their day to ensure that students who have been in foster care know they have a whole community back home that supports them and wants them to succeed,” said Foster Success Chief Development and Communications Officer Travis Tester.  “We couldn’t do this work without volunteers and supporters who go the extra mile.”
