Golden Eagles make comeback at Noblesville

On Saturday, Jan. 31, Guerin Catholic and Noblesville’s boys basketball teams met up at The Mill. Prior to this matchup, the Millers were 6-2 against the Golden Eagles.

It was a tale of two halves. Each had their half to lead, but Guerin took advantage in the second half and overcame a halftime deficit to win an all-county road game, 48-39.

The Millers had a slight 14-12 edge after the first quarter and the second was just as tight to give them a two-possession lead of 29-23.

Guerin made halftime adjustments and outscored Noblesville 25-10 in the final two quarters to hold off the hosts for the nine-point win.

The Golden Eagles were led by Will Bach with 24 and Jake Grissom scoring 14 and grabbing five rebounds.

Class 3A No. 14 Guerin Catholic (13-5) hits the road at Culver Academy at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7.

The Millers had two in double figures. Baron Walker had a team-high 19 to go along with five rebounds and five assists. Justin Curry had 11 and three boards.

Noblesville (8-8) visits 4A No. 3 Mt. Vernon (16-2) on Thursday.
