Catherine Torzewski, a local Realtor, small business owner, and mother of two who resides in the Geist area, has announced her intention to run for Indiana Senate District 31.

Torzeski grew up on the east side of Indianapolis and attended Saint Simon Catholic School and Scecina Memorial High School. She credits her upbringing with forming her sense of community and pride. Her mother was a local librarian, and her father was a Sheet Metal Workers, Local 20, union worker. Catherine earned her Bachelor of Science degree from University of Indianapolis in 2005.

Torzeski is heavily involved in the MIBOR Association, serving on various committees and participating in the MIBOR Real Estate Academy of Leadership. She is a successful Central Indiana Realtor and owner of a small business focused on investment properties.

Torzeski is committed to her community outside of her career as well. She sits on the Lawrence Township School Foundation Board. She also volunteers with her local Moms Demand Action chapter in which she advocates for common-sense gun laws such as safe storage and the Jake Laird Law.

Torzeski is no stranger to running campaigns in both Hamilton County and Marion County, having managed a successful reelection campaign for Statehouse Representative Victoria Garcia Wilburn last year, in which Representative Wilburn’s win margin increased by nearly five points. She also previously managed a campaign in the city of Fishers in 2023 for candidate Howard Stevenson who ran for City Council.

“Voters in Senate district 31 are tired of the polarizing politics,” Torzeski said. “They want lawmakers to get back to Hoosier values, values that prioritize public school funding, safety, and a comfortable life for all. I’m committed to a different kind of politics, one that is transparent and authentic. I’m raising my kids here, I’m doing business here, my friends and family all live here. Indiana is home, and I want to make it the best place it possibly can be. I’m ready to roll up my sleeves and get back to basics at the statehouse – to focus on Hoosiers and how we can make all of our lives better.”
