On Saturday, Nov. 29, Indiana State Police Detectives were notified that Caleb Weis, 26, Indianapolis, had died in the hospital; his cause of death will be determined by the Marion County Coroner’s Office.
Weis had been wanted by police regarding the murder of Cameron Doaks in March 2024 in Fishers.
An officer-involved shooting of Weis occurred at about 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6 while Fishers police were serving an arrest warrant. The incident occurred in the area of East 91st Street and Masters Road. That’s near the Masters Apartments just north of the Castleton area in Indianapolis.
The Fishers police officers who discharged their weapons in this incident are Sergeant Austin Arndt, who has served 12 years with the Fishers Police Department (FPD); Detective Colin Harruffm, who has served six years with FPD; Detective Cory Schalburg, who has served six years with FPD; and Detective Sergeant Cesar Rodriguez, who has served 14 years with FPD.
This remains an active and ongoing investigation.
