Eight teams to vie in inaugural girls flag football state finals at Grand Park

The Indianapolis Colts on Saturday will host the first-ever girls flag football state finals at Grand Park Sports Campus in Westfield.

The debut of girls flag football in Indiana had 78 teams competing statewide. The inaugural postseason began last week with sectional tournaments, and the eight sectional winners will compete in the state finals.

The competition will start with the round of eight at 10 a.m. Saturday, followed by the final four at 4 p.m., and the finals at 6 p.m. Tickets for the event will be $8.

The eight sectional winners competing in the state finals are Fort Wayne Snider, Harrison (West Lafayette), Lawrence North, Munster, New Prairie, Penn, Terre Haute South and Warren Central.
