Thieves used a stolen car to ram and break into a gun store, the Noblesville Police Department said.

WISHTV.com first reported Friday morning about the crime that happened around 4:45 a.m. Friday at 98 N. 10th St. That’s in downtown Noblesville just a block north of City Hall and east of the Hamilton County Courthouse.

Hoosier Armory gun shop reported to I-Team 8 that it was the second time it’s happened to the business in the last year.

Sounds of power tools filled the air as employees of the gun store boarded up their business.

Police said the car used to break through the door was recently stolen in Marion County.

When the thieves got into the store they were likely disappointed because, according to the employees, all of the guns were locked to the shelves or locked in a safe.

All the thieves got away with were a couple of pocket knives.

Police said investigators are working a couple of leads to track down the culprits.

Employees told I-Team 8 there were four people wearing masks and that at least one of them was cut by broken glass as they entered the store, leaving blood on the floor during the robbery. According to the store, police gathered that evidence so when police track down the criminals their DNA could firmly connect them to the crime.

The store’s employees said the situation was very frustrating because paying for the fixes will cost them a lot of money.

Hoosier Armory said another business has offered to put in a bollard – a short, sturdy post, often made of metal or concrete, used to control traffic, protect pedestrians and property, and enhance security – in front of the door so that another car this doesn’t happen again.
