Sheridan’s newly formed Events Committee is bringing fresh energy to the town’s beloved Fourth of July celebration, working alongside trusted local partners to ensure the tradition not only continues but grows.
While the Sheridan Lions Club continues to lead the much-anticipated patriotic parade, the Sheridan Events Committee has taken the reins of the festival operations at Biddle Memorial Park, including vendor coordination, live entertainment, children’s activities, and the spectacular fireworks display.
A hometown tradition worth preserving
For generations, the Sheridan Fourth of July celebration has been a hallmark of small-town pride, bringing families, veterans, and neighbors together in a vibrant display of patriotism. While the exact origins are unclear, longtime residents remember decades of festivities centered around Biddle Memorial Park and downtown Sheridan.
Over the years, various civic groups – such as the Sheridan Lions Club, the volunteer fire department, and local veteran organizations – have played key roles in planning and executing the celebration. Whether organizing the parade, fundraising for fireworks, or hosting kid-friendly activities, Sheridan’s Independence Day has always been powered by community spirit.
This year, with the support of the newly launched Sheridan Events Committee, that tradition continues – and expands – ensuring future generations can enjoy and be proud of this hometown celebration.
