“Day of Giving” will raise money for Domestic Violence Awareness Month

Prevail, a leading non-profit organization dedicated to supporting survivors of crime and abuse on their path to healing, is inviting you to #GoPurpleWithPrevail this month and participate in the “Day of Giving” Campaign taking place on Thursday, Oct. 17 as a part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Domestic Violence Awareness Month is a time to educate communities about the signs of abuse, promote resources for those affected, and advocate for change surrounding this critical issue. Prevail needs your help in breaking the silence. You’re invited to stand in solidarity with survivors and help work toward a future free from violence in every home across the community.

In efforts to make an impactful difference this month, Prevail will hold its first-ever “Day of Giving” with a goal of raising $10,000. These funds will directly impact the survivors of crime and abuse that Prevail is devoted to serving.

“This month is dedicated to rallying our community around the root causes of domestic violence, amplifying the voices of survivors, and raising essential funds to support our program and services,” Prevail Executive Director Tami Wanninger said. “In conjunction with Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we are excited to announce our upcoming Day of Giving on Oct. 17, 2024. Consider making a gift to help us reach our goal of $10,000.”

The following are recommended giving levels:

  • $25: Provides supplies for survivor to engage in a healing arts program
  • $50: Ensures child impacted by family violence has education on healthy relationships
  • $100: Enables a survivor to develop a comprehensive safety plan for their family
  • $250: Supports crisis response services for a survivor who is at high risk for murder
  • $500: Helps a family become safely housed after fleeing an abusive relationship

You can make a donation online at prevailinc.org/donate. Your gift, big or small, creates safer and brighter futures for survivors of domestic abuse and their children.

Another easy way to show your support is to #GoPurpleWithPrevail. Have your group or organization wear purple, snap a photo, and share it on social media, tagging Prevail (@prevail.inc) to raise awareness for the issue at hand.

“Together, we can create a community where safety and dignity are not privileges but rights for everyone,” Wanninger said. “This Domestic Violence Awareness Month let’s stand united, not just in awareness, but in action. Your involvement can make all the difference.”
