Mervin D. Hair

July 10, 1946 – August 2, 2024

Mervin D. Hair, 78, Noblesville, passed away on Friday, August 2, 2024 at his home. He was born on July 10, 1946, to Gilbert and Christina (Holmes) Hair in Noblesville.

Mervin proudly served his country in the United States Army. For over 40 years, he worked for the Hamilton County Highway Department, retiring in 2024 as a Crew Leader. Mervin attended Heartland Church. He was an extremely faithful man with a strong belief in God, most of all witnessing and setting examples for others. Mervin loved woodworking, planting his flowers, and growing his garden. He loved his families and his great relationship with his coworkers through the years.

Mervin is survived by his wife of 17 years, Barbara Ricker-Hair; sons, Todd (Tami) Hair and Chad (Syd) Hair; daughters, Rhea (Nicole) Ricker and Rachel (Hannah) Ricker; sisters, Frances (William) Oakes, Christy Rodriguez, Mary Ann (Ed) Harber, and Martha Jean Young; 20 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews and great-nieces & great-nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruby Ann Hair, in 2004.

Visitation will be from noon to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, Noblesville. Services with military rites will follow at 3 p.m., with Pastor Darryn Scheske officiating. Burial will be at Brookside Cemetery in Lapel.
