Westfield finished Hoosier Crossroads Conference play with a sweep of Avon Thursday in a home doubleheader.
The Shamrocks beat the Orioles 3-2 in the first game. Avon scored both of its runs in the top of the first inning, then Westfield got a run back in the bottom of the first when Matt Drozlek batted in Drew Law with a center field hit.
Drozlek took care of business again in the fifth inning, blasting a right field triple to score Caden Lindsey and Law for the go-ahead runs. Drozlek had the Rocks’ only two hits of the game.
Meanwhile, Tyler Anderson did his job on the mound. He pitched a complete game, allowing only two hits while striking out four.
Westfield sailed to a 14-0, six-inning over the Orioles in the second game. Playing as the away team, the Shamrocks scored four runs in the second inning, five more in the third, then ended the game with five runs in the sixth inning.
Law had two hits and drove in three runs, while Brayden Hibler and Ethan Colling also batted in three runs. Colling hit a two-run double in the third inning, with Lindsey hitting a two-run single in the second inning.
Jackson Blevins went four innings for the win, while Sam Everts threw four strikeouts in two innings of relief.
Westfield completed its HCC schedule with an 8-6 record. The Shamrocks are 16-10 overall and host Batesville at noon today in their regular-season finale.

Fishers took care of Brownsburg 8-2 in its HCC and regular-season finales Thursday.
The Tigers led from the start with two runs in the first inning; Jack Brown and Ben Hammond scored when Trevor Hall reached on error. Fishers added two more runs in the second inning. Mayo Fernandez hit a double, Huston Dunn got on base with a fielder’s choice, and both scored on Brown’s left field double.
Hall scored a third-inning run when Jase Ruggles reached on error. In the sixth inning, Ruggles singled in Hall, then Fernandez got home on a wild pitch. Hammond scored in the seventh inning when Fernandez drew a bases-loaded walk.
Brown, Fernandez and Evan Doran all had two hits, with Deagan Repp hitting a double. Gavin Kuzniewski went five innings for the win, striking out eight.
Fishers finished conference play 11-3 and the regular season 21-8. The Tigers play Hamilton Southeastern next Friday, May 24, in the first round of Sectional 8 at Noblesville.

Carmel beat Kokomo 4-1 Thursday at Hartman Field.
The Greyhounds scored two runs in the first inning. JD Stein got home on Tyler Walkey’s sacrifice fly, then Hunter Snow scored when Parker Heaney reached on error. Adam Buczkowski hit a solo home run in the third inning, then Walkey doubled in Stein for a sixth-inning run.
Stein, Walkey and Buczkowski all had two hits, with Walkey and Snow also hitting doubles. Thoe Nagy went four and two-thirds innings for the win, striking out six.

Hamilton Southeastern won a 1-0 HCC game Thursday at Franklin Central.
The Royals scored their run in the sixth inning when Maddux Bach doubled in Parker O’Steen. Josh Lesniewski got the pitching win, throwing five and a third innings.

Guerin Catholic dropped a 6-5 Circle City Conference game to Covenant Christian on Thursday to finish its regular season.
Davis Wagner doubled in the Class 3A No. 3 Golden Eagles’ first run in the first inning, bringing Bryson Dorsey home. The Warriors scored two runs in the fifth inning and added another in the sixth for a 3-1 lead.
Guerin Catholic came back with four runs in the bottom of the sixth. Karson Smith led off with a double, then got home on Ian Taylor’s single. Cuinn Morrow scored when Dorsey reached on error, then Wagner’s sacrifice fly brought in Nolan Ratcliff.
Grant Beard hit a sacrifice fly to score Taylor, and GC led 5-3. But Covenant scored three in the top of the seventh to clinch the win.
Wagner hit two doubles, with Dorsey and Smith both getting two hits. Ryan Zimmerman struck out five in five and a third innings, allowing one hit.
The Golden Eagles are 19-6 and play Hamilton Heights next Saturday, May 25 in the first round of Sectional 27 at Brebeuf Jesuit.

University fell to 4A No. 1 Center Grove 9-2 in a Thursday away game.
The Trailblazers scored both of their runs in the fourth inning: Jasper Owens singled in Jimmy Caldwell and Owen Schellhase. Owens had two hits in the game.

Noblesville was swept by Zionsville Thursday at Don Dunker field to finish its HCC season.
The Millers dropped their first game 4-2, scoring both of their runs in the fifth inning. Brady Bishop got the first run on an error, then Aiden Reynolds doubled in Trevor Corbett.
Reynolds had two hits. Beckett Doane pitched three and a third innings with four strikeouts, while Quentin Black had five strikeouts in three and two-thirds innings of relief.
Noblesville lost the second game 9-1. Corbett doubled in Bishop in the fifth inning for the Millers’ run; he had Noblesville’s lone hit. Nolan Decker struck out five in four innings.
The Millers won the HCC championship, finishing play with a 12-2 record. Noblesville is 20-6 overall and plays games today at Lafayette Jefferson at noon and Harrison at 3 p.m.

Sheridan fell to Rossville 4-1 Wednesday in the Hoosier Heartland Conference tournament at Kokomo Municipal Stadium.
The Hornets led 4-0 after two innings. The Blackhawks scored their run in the third inning; Dayne Voege batted in Chance Spencer with a left field hit.
Zach Bales had two hits.
Sheridan finished its regular season 13-10 and hosts Sectional 43 next week. The Hawks play University at 5 p.m. Wednesday in the first round.
