Hamilton County Grant Administrator Todd Clevenger has officially entered the race to be the next Hamilton County Auditor, emphasizing his experience and readiness to step into the position.
“The position of County Auditor can’t rely upon on-the-job training,” Clevenger said. “The position is too important and too complex. Based on my six years of experience working with the Auditor’s Office, I am the only candidate ready to do the work on Day One.”
The role of the Hamilton County Auditor, according to Clevenger, is to act as the county’s Chief Financial Officer.
“The mission of the office is to ensure Hamilton County’s financial integrity; responsibly manage and spend tax dollars; and promote efficient, effective and accountable government,” Clevenger said. “As your County Auditor, I will represent every citizen with transparency and integrity.”
Clevenger has worked for the county since March 2018. Prior to that, he served as a Legislative Chief of Staff, Nonprofit Administrator, and a Partner in a Marketing and Communications Consulting Firm. He holds an MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University and is a graduate of the National Associations of Counties High Performance Leadership Academy. He is currently the president of the Kiwanis Club of Cicero and serves on the boards of both CHAMP Camp and Arts for Learning Indiana.
“Public service at the local level is extremely fulfilling, because I get to see the impact daily,” Clevenger said. “It is inherently meaningful, because it is directly related to building and improving our communities, as well as improving the lives of our family, friends, neighbors, and community members. Public service is my passion. I take the responsibility – and the honor of serving – very seriously.”
Clevenger and his wife, Sue, have lived in Hamilton County for almost 30 years, residing in both Carmel and Cicero. Their three sons graduated from Hamilton Heights High School. You can find out more or contact Todd Clevenger at Clevenger4Auditor.com.
