Meals on Wheels of Hamilton County will hold its third annual Al Haimbach Memorial Golf Classic fundraiser at 8:30 a.m. Monday, June 8, at Chatham Hills Country Club, 1100 Chatham Hills Blvd., Westfield.
Development and Outreach Director Jennifer Sturges told The Reporter Meals on Wheels serves 309 clients, some of whom only need short-term help.
“Some are elderly or disabled,” Sturges said. “We help with just any kind of need where they can’t leave the house or they just have disabilities that won’t allow them to cook or that kind of thing. People can sign up for short-term or long-term meal service.”
According to Sturges, the majority of their clients are in Noblesville and Fishers, but they also serve people in Carmel, Westfield, Sheridan, Cicero, Arcadia, Fortville, Zionsville, Lapel, and Atlanta.
Fundraisers like the one coming up in June provide almost one-third of the annual funding.
The June 8 golf outing is presented by First Merchants Bank in Westfield. Participants will enjoy a round of golf, breakfast, lunch, a silent auction, and an awards ceremony, with proceeds directly funding medically tailored meals to the elderly or those with disabilities, facing food insecurities, or unable to prepare food for themselves, for both short- and long-term needs in Hamilton County.
This event will build on the strong momentum generated during its first two years. Backed by continued community support and growing enthusiasm, organizers expect this year’s outing to be the biggest yet. Last year’s event delivered an unforgettable highlight when a hole-in-one earned one lucky participant a brand-new Mazda CX-50. The moment added to an already memorable day on the course and reflected the excitement and strong community spirit that continue to make the event a favorite among participants and supporters.
“Every round played in the Al Haimbach Memorial Golf Classic helps drive our mission forward,” CEO/Executive Director Tricia Hudson said. “This event brings our community together in support of neighbors who rely on us every day. Each golfer, sponsor, and volunteer helps ensure that seniors and individuals in need across Hamilton County receive the nourishing meals and caring connections they deserve.”
The event also offers a variety of sponsorship opportunities, allowing businesses and individuals to support the cause while gaining visibility in the community. Those interested in participating, sponsoring, or donating silent auction items can call (317) 776-7159 or visit mealsonwheelshc.org/golf-outing for more details.
All are welcome to join Meals on Wheels of Hamilton County on June 8 for a day of golf with a purpose and help ensure that seniors and residents with disabilities in Hamilton County continue to receive the nutritious meals they depend on.
