Wilma Jean Adair

November 25, 1927 – January 18, 2022

Wilma Jean Adair, 94, Indianapolis, formerly of Sheridan and Frankfort, passed away on Tuesday evening, January 18, 2022, at Franciscan Health in Mooresville. Born November 25, 1927, in Tipton, Ind., she was the daughter of the late Bernard E. and Grace (King) Pickard.

After graduating from Sheridan High School with the Class of 1945, Wilma entered the workforce. She worked for Wilson Milk Company (which later became Kraft Foods) in Sheridan before taking a position with the Peter Paul Candy Factory in Frankfort.

She moved to the south side of Indianapolis to be closer to her daughter and enjoy her retirement years with her family.

Wilma is survived by her daughter, Penne Ann Ridener (Jamie) of Indianapolis; and grandson, Trent Ridener of Indianapolis.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Floyd V. Pickard and wife Helen; sisters, Cleo Hatton and husband Hugh, Geraldine Gunkel and husband Loren, and Mary Rector and husband Donald; and by her loving husband Lowell Howard “Mick” Adair on March 1, 1990. She and Mick were married on September 3, 1949.

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at Crown View Cemetery in Sheridan.

Reverend William Kipp Glenn will be officiating.
