Westfield Lions & SOS Club join forces to create miracles

The Westfield High School’s Service Over Self (SOS) Club and the Westfield Lions Club are teaming up to raise funds for the “Miracle League of Westfield” – a local non-profit organization that provides children and adults with disabilities the experience of playing “adaptive baseball.”

A pancake breakfast will be held on Saturday, March 18 in the Westfield High School (WHS) cafeteria and will run from 8 to 10:30 a.m. It includes all-you-can-eat pancakes, sausage, donuts, drinks, free face painting, and a 50/50 raffle. The cost for the breakfast is $8 for adults, $5 for children under 12, and free for children aged 2 and under.

The Miracle League of Westfield is run by a 100-percent volunteer committee and has developed an accessible stadium at Westfield’s Roundtripper Academy. The group’s mission is to provide opportunities for all children and young adults to play baseball regardless of their ability or disability. The Miracle League of Westfield needs financial support to make the dream of playing baseball come true for these kids and adults, so the SOS Club and Westfield Lions are stepping up to raise funds and create awareness for this extremely worthwhile program.

The SOS Club is a service club at WHS that gives young people the opportunity to serve their community while learning valuable skills. The club’s objective is to “provide hands-on service projects to build character and develop leadership skills with an educational twist.”

The Westfield Lions Club, the oldest service club in Hamilton County, is a proud sponsor and supporter of the SOS Club. The Lions will lend their leadership, experience, Lion-power, and financial support to help the SOS Club make this fundraiser a major winner.

The SOS Club and Westfield Lions Club also need your help in making this pancake breakfast a success. They encourage everyone to take a little time out of their Saturday morning to enjoy some good food, have fun, and support a great cause.

Organizations and individuals that are be interested in being a “Placemat Sponsor” for the event can email the Westfield Lions Club at info@westfieldlions.org or call (317) 804-1875. For $50 you can get your name or logo on the pancake breakfast placemat.
