This past Saturday after a week-long rain delay, the Westfield Lions Club held a charity car show at Grand Junction Brewing in Westfield. The show, sponsored by Pete’s Classic Storage & Restoration in Indianapolis, saw more than 30 cars displayed at the brewing company parking lot.

A total of $2,100 was raised for the Emily Strong Foundation, providing hope for kids with cancer. The foundation was founded by Emily Alberts, a Hodgkin’s lymphoma survivor, as a way to give back for the support she received with her battle against cancer.

Entertainment was provided by local high schoolers Spenser Johns and John Wickham, with all proceeds and tips going to the Emily Strong Foundation. The Lions thank them for their generous donation, along with Grand Junction Brewing and Indiana Business Solutions for their support for the event.

Winner of the People’s Choice Award was a 1967 VW Camper Van, owned by Earl Haas of Westfield.

Best in Show, chosen by Ms. Alberts, was the 1972 Corvette Stingray owned by Warren Mockler of Carmel. If that name sounds familiar, Mockler is a former United States Auto Club midget and sprint car racer of some note.
