Westfield Lions Club
At their April 2 meeting, the Westfield Lions Club members competed in a version of the game Jeopardy!. While the winning team didn’t walk away with a trip to Cancun, they did win Dairy Queen gift cards.
The variety of categories included pop culture, movies, music, travel, and even some Lions Club trivia. The Club has a customizable PowerPoint version of Jeopardy! that they break out about once a year to create an evening of friendly competitiveness.
Also, at the meeting the Club initiated Laura Hall as the newest member. She is sponsored by Lion Jacqui Lloyd, and the initiation ceremony was led by Past District Governor Bob Benson. Hall, a retired special education teacher, brings the Club’s roster count up to 76 members – an all-time high for the Club since its inception in 1930.

Westfield Lions step up again for Open Doors Food Pantry
Each year the Westfield Lions assist Open Doors Food Pantry of Westfield in the “Stamp Out Hunger” food drive sponsored by the U.S. Postal Service (USPS). The Westfield and Carmel USPS branches will be delivering approximately 70,000 plastic bags, along with instructions for the public to fill the bags with food donations and leave them at their mailboxes for pick up on Saturday, May 9. The mail carriers then collect the food bags during their normal mail routes.
The bags and instruction cards delivered by the USPS must be folded up and stapled so the mail carriers can deliver them in the mailboxes, and that’s where the Lions come in. Each year the Westfield Lions help fold and staple the bags for Open Doors and then assist with sorting the donations when they come in on May 9.
