The Westfield Lions Club is proud to support Luci Bluto of Girl Scout Troop 959 in her Girl Scout Silver Award project at the Westfield Library. The Lions Club grant of $250 helped the Westfield High School freshman donate two benches to the butterfly garden at the city library.

The benches were dedicated to the library on Wednesday by Ms. Bluto and members of the Lions Club.

Luci collected over 200 pounds of plastic trash that was recycled to help make the benches. She is the daughter of longtime Westfield Lion Chris Bluto.

The Lions Club regularly considers grants to local charities and students for projects like Luci’s.

The Girl Scout Silver Award – the highest award a Girl Scout Cadette can earn – gives them the chance to do big things and make their community better in the process.

Lions Clubs International is a non-political service organization of over 1.7 million members worldwide founded in Evansville, Ind., on Oct. 24, 1916.
