Westfield Library Foundation launches 1902 Society

The Westfield Library Foundation (WWPL) has recently established the 1902 Society – seeking members who are invested in sustaining the mission of the Westfield Washington Public Library (WWPL) to educate and empower the community.

Members of the 1902 Society are forward-thinking partners who are engaged with the Foundation in developing, funding and planning for the future of the WWPL. The library has officially announced plans to move and build in a new downtown location on Westfield Boulevard at a date to be determined.

With plans to construct a new library and enhance services across the board, the WWPL has launched its own #NewEra #NewChapter campaign to build anticipation for its new home.

The formation of the 1902 Society not only looks toward the future but also honors the Westfield Washington Public Library’s official establishment in April of 1902. For over a century, the library has continued to grow and serve the citizens of Westfield and Washington Township. Even with its doors closed during a pandemic, the WWPL took advantage of the new normal with a pivot – providing robust virtual and curbside pickup services for its patrons.

The 1902 Society offers corporate and individual/family memberships. Membership gifts will be used to promote new projects, grow collections, and advance technology, as well as literacy initiatives that will benefit all who live in Westfield and Washington Township.

1902 Society members enjoy the following benefits:

  • Advance purchase of tickets for special events
  • Advance invitations to private author receptions and books signings
  • Donor recognition on the Westfield Library Foundation’s Donor Wall, website, social media and annual newsletter
  • Volunteer opportunities throughout the year
