Westfield High School football was well represented at this year’s Indiana Football Coaches Association (IFCA) North/South All-Star Game, with four Shamrocks earning the opportunity to represent their school among Indiana’s top football talent.

Leading the way was Defensive Coordinator Ryan Sosinski, who was selected to serve on the South Team coaching staff. The honor recognizes outstanding leadership, football knowledge, and a commitment to developing student-athletes both on and off the field.

Joining Coach Sosinski on the South Team roster were Ja’Deon Smith and Alex Aramboles, who were selected to compete in the annual All-Star Game. The South team won the game 23-9.

Smith earned his spot as a defensive lineman after an outstanding career with the Shamrocks. This fall, he will continue his football career at Saginaw Valley State University, where he plans to study Sports Psychology.

Aramboles was selected as a linebacker and was also chosen as one of four South Team captains, an honor voted on by teammates and coaches that recognizes leadership and character. He will continue his football career at Grand Valley State University, where he plans to study Exercise Science.

Westfield was also represented by Emme Burtron, who was selected as a team manager for the South Team.

Team managers are chosen by area schools and coaches for their dedication to their football programs, reliability, leadership, teamwork, and positive character. With only a handful of manager positions available each year, the selection is a significant honor. Emme will attend Indiana Wesleyan University this fall, and she becomes the third member of the Burtron family to participate in the Indiana North/South All-Star Game, preceded by Zane Burtron, who served as WHS’s Head Offensive Line Coach in 2014, and Wade Burtron, who played quarterback (Class of 2012) and who now serves as a detective with WPD.

Congratulations to Coach Sosinski, Alex, Ja’Deon, and Emme on this well-deserved recognition. Thank you for representing Westfield with excellence both on and off the field, and best of luck as you take the next steps in your academic and athletic journeys.
