Virgil Paul Fruth

October 16, 1940 – February 7, 2026

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Virgil Paul Fruth, 85, affectionately known as Paul, on February 7, 2026. Virgil was born on October 16, 1940, in Noble, Ill., to Virgil and Madeline Fruth. He was a dedicated and talented individual, known for his witty humor and unwavering loyalty to his family and faith. Paul was a resident of Arcadia, where he created countless cherished memories with his loved ones and community.

Paul was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He was married to his loving wife, Sondra, on November 23, 1958, and their enduring partnership was a testament to their commitment and love for each other. Paul was a devoted father to his children, Virgil “Paul” (Denise) Fruth Jr., Teresa (Paul) Taylor, and Tammy Fruth. He was also a doting grandfather to Paul Fruth III, Joshua Fruth, Sarah (Justin) Kremer, and Taylor (Nate) Eversman, and a proud great-grandfather to nine beautiful great-grandchildren. Virgil was also a cherished uncle to several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Nina Fruth, and his brother, Charles Fruth.

In his professional life, Paul was a respected maintenance worker at the Indiana Academy until his retirement. His dedication to his work was evident in his commitment to the Academy. In his leisure time, Paul was a man of many interests. He loved woodworking, fishing, bird watching, hiking, and reading. He also had a beautiful singing voice and often performed duets with Sondra during their evangelism. Paul was a member of Kokomo Seventh-day Adventist Church, where he served as a head elder and where he enjoyed preaching and filling in for the Pastor when needed. His dedication to his faith and family were the cornerstones of his life.

Visitation will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 28, 2026, at the Cicero Seventh-day Adventist Church, 24445 State Road 19, Cicero. A Memorial Service will follow at the same venue at 4:30 p.m.

Services are under the direction of Hartley-Dunnichay Funeral Homes – Cicero.

Paul’s life was marked by his love for his family, his dedication to his work and his community, and his unwavering faith. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
