At 5:19 a.m. on Friday, Carmel Police responded to a report of a vehicle that had crashed into the Olivia on Main building on the southwest corner of Main Street and Old Meridian.
Based upon the preliminary investigation, it appears a vehicle was traveling east on Main Street when the driver, Michael Jent, 16, Carmel, lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the building. The impact caused substantial damage to both the vehicle and building.
Jent was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries. The cause of the crash is still under investigation, but it is not believed to have been an intentional act. Jent was the only occupant of the vehicle.
Jent’s parents have asked the community to please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
