Editor’s note: The following statement was sent on Tuesday to the Reporter from Tom Kenley.

I have been honored to serve two terms as Noblesville Township Trustee and one term as a township board member. It has been a pleasure to work with my excellent staff and township board members Peggy Pfister, Joe Arrowood, and John Davis.
We have accomplished a lot during my time in office. We have increased the level of financial assistance for Noblesville residents and established new programs for families in need, the homeless, and qualifying inmates being released from the Hamilton County Jail.
Our office is actively involved with the Noblesville Police and Fire Departments in seeking help for the drug-addicted and those who suffer from mental illness. We have provided an opportunity for some of our residents to find a way out of these very serious societal problems.
These efforts have been very beneficial to many who have taken advantage of the help offered and rewarding to all of us who work at the Trustee Office.
During my time in office, we have consistently lowered your tax rate and have lowered the general property tax levy two times. Our tax levy for 2022 is $205,000 less than it was in 2021. We were able do to this in part because of federal COVID funding for rent and utilities. The bottom line is that my proposed property tax levy has been kept low while providing more services to residents in need. This has been accomplished with the support of the Noblesville Township Board.
I want to thank everyone in the community who voted for me as your Township Trustee and to all the good people who have worked with us and contributed the success of the Trustee Office during my two terms. Now is the time to turn the management of this office over to a younger person with experience and new ideas on how to continue to improve on our commitment to the residents of Noblesville.
I fully endorse my Deputy Trustee, Theresa Caldwell, for election to the office of Noblesville Township Trustee.
