The Sheridan High School girls 4×400 meter relay record that stood for over four decades fell Thursday, May 1 as the Sheridan track teams competed against Hoosier Heartland Conference opponent Eastern High School.

The girls relay team of Sophia Göttig, Kenzie Garner, Nova Cross, and Ji Warren clocked a winning time of 4:29.0, breaking the previous record of 4:31.6 that was set in 1983.

This new record is not just a number – it is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the students and athletes at Sheridan High School. The students in this record-breaking quartet are not just amazing athletes, but are hard workers inside the classroom and in the community.

Well done ladies and keep up the great work!
