The Fishers basketball teams split a Hoosier Crossroads Conference doubleheader Friday at Franklin Central.
The boys went first, and the Class 4A No. 1 Tigers kept their unbeaten season rolling by cruising past the Flashes 65-40. The teams finished the first quarter tied at 15-15, but Fishers blasted through the second quarter, pouring in 23 points for a 38-24 halftime lead. Four different players had five points for the Tigers in that period. Fishers then outscored Franklin Central 27-16 in the second half.
JonAnthony Hall led the Tigers with 15 points. Taden Metzger made three 3-pointers for nine points, with Cooper Zachary and Jason Gardner Jr. both adding nine points.
The Fishers boys are 5-0 in HCC play and 16-0 overall. The Tigers play tonight at Carmel.
In the girls game, Fishers fell to Franklin Central 55-46. The Flashes jumped out to an 18-12 lead after one period. The Tigers cut that advantage to 31-29 by halftime, with Morgan Roberts scoring seven points in the second quarter. Franklin Central led 40-37 after three quarters and scored 15 more in the fourth to get the win.
Nevaeh Dickman led Fishers with 10 points.
This was the regular-season finale for the girls, who finished HCC play 4-3 and are 16-6 overall. The Tigers play Carmel Tuesday night in the first round of Class 4A Sectional 8 at Hamilton Southeastern.
