The Fishers volleyball team won a Hoosier Crossroads Conference match over Brownsburg Thursday at the Tiger Den, 25-21, 25-18, 23-25, 25-20.
The Tigers were playing their Pink Out match for breast cancer patients, which coach Steven Peek noted gave his team some extra motivation in the match.
“I’m glad they got the W for them, and all the families they’re playing for,” said Peek.
Thursday was Fishers’ first match since dropping the Mudsock match to Hamilton Southeastern last week. Peek said the team was “really trying to focus in on us. We think we lost Mudsock because of things we were doing, or rather, not doing at times.”
The Tigers used the break to work on those things in practice, and they paid off against the Bulldogs.
“Man, were there numerous things that we had been practicing that really translated well tonight,” said Peek. “Definitely increasing our serving potency, but especially just covering better. Covering our teammates, getting a little more aggressive on the left hand (side).”
Fishers is now 3-1 in HCC play and 11-2 overall. The Tigers will play at the New Castle tournament on Saturday.
