The Fishers Tigers continue to hit their stride late in the season.
Tied with Hoosier Crossroads Conference foe Brownsburg, 25-25, at halftime on Friday, Jan. 16, the host Tigers erupted for a 23-point third quarter inside The Jungle and held on to win 65-59.
Fishers’ (10-8, 1-4 HCC) victory snapped their four-game, HCC winless streak and pushed their overall winning streak to two straight, marking the program’s fourth triumph in five contests.
The Tigers powered past the Bulldogs (9-8, 2-3 HCC) behind a trio of double-digit scorers led by sophomore Ella Burleson’s game-high 17 points. Burleson buried a team-best five 3-pointers, including three in the second half.
Sophomore Reagan Reiff finished with 12 points, and senior Natalie Thomas had 11 points.
Junior Caroline Kirkendall and senior Makayla Triplett added 8 and 7 points, respectively. Junior Alanna Anthony chipped in six points.
Brownsburg narrowed the gap late with a 24-point fourth quarter, but the Tigers’ 48-35 lead entering the final frame proved enough to fend off the Bulldogs’ double-figures quartet.
Elle McCulloch and Laniah Walkine both led Brownsburg with 14 points each. Bri Brown had 13 points followed by Gabbi Harvey with 11.
