Thomas Alan Roberts died on May 13, 2026, in Galveston, Texas. He was born in Kingston, Pa., on Sept. 15, 1944, and moved with his family to Arcadia in 1955.
He graduated from Jackson Central High School in Arcadia and received a B.A. in History from Parsons College in Iowa. He was drafted to serve in the army during the Vietnam War, but because he could type, was fortunate to serve as a clerk in Heidelberg, Germany, for his tour. He later taught World History at Hamilton Heights High School (formerly, Jackson Central) for a year and then became a civil servant for the army. He served as an EEOC officer in South Korea, California, and, finally, Texas, until his retirement. He was a proud member of the American Legion in Cicero until his death.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Stella Roberts, his sister, Judy Thomas, and his brother, Gary Roberts. He is survived by his brother, the Reverend Robert Roberts (Eileen); his sister, Chris Epstein; and his sister, Reba Roberts (Mark Burton).
He loved all food and drank a lot of Coca-Cola. While in Indiana, Tom was known for tooling around in his blue and white Corvette. He will be remembered for his kindness, his intelligence, and his love of all sports.
