Steven Ralph Head

February 6, 1947 – March 30, 2023

Steven Ralph Head, 76, Noblesville, passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2023, at Riverview Health in Noblesville. He was born on February 6, 1947, to Robert and Hesper (McKinney) Head in Noblesville.

Steve was a very good man with a big, warm heart and deep feelings. He was a fierce and passionate protector of his family!

Steve was a lifelong resident of Noblesville. His maternal grandparents, Ralph & Roxie (Taber) McKinney were sharecroppers on the south side of Noblesville. As a child, helping his grandpa and playing in the field was a life Steve loved, along with hunting and fishing, activities he continued when they moved off the farm. As a teen, Steve was resourceful at collecting and selling items for spending money, a path he shared with his father leading to antiquing, flea markets, festivals, and auctions – a lifetime passion.

Steve graduated from Noblesville High School in 1966. He loved and excelled in sports. Steve ran track and played baseball and football, making his mark in basketball. He made and maintained many close friendships from it.

In 2009, after 41 years, Steve retired from Public Service Indiana (now Duke Energy) as a Line Service Tech. During those years, he followed sports, participated in a men’s basketball league, and owned and rode horses. Steve was a member of the Noblesville Miller Backers, and Elks and Moose Lodges. He was involved in youth sports with his sons.

Steve is survived by his wife of 46 years, Roseanna (Thompson) Head; sons, Andrew (AJ) and Aaron Head; twin brother, Doug (Stephanie) Head; granddaughter, Moriah; and grandson, Jake.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Madeline Massey; and brother, Jerry Parsons.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with services at 1 p.m., on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at Eagle Creek Evangelical Friends Church, 18103 Eagletown Road, Westfield. Pastor Mike Linville will officiate. Burial will be at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville at a later date.
