Hamilton Southeastern sailed to victory at Fort Wayne Northrop on Friday, winning 56-7 in Class 6A Sectional 3 semifinal play.
The Royals jumped out to a 28-0 lead after the first quarter. Jalen Alexander scored the first touchdown with a one-yard run, then AZ Wallace went 21 yards to score. Chandler Weston sent a TD pass to Jewel Jagoe, then Alexander ran in from five yards. Southeastern scored those four touchdowns during a 6 minute, 15 second span.
Wallace added a second-quarter touchdown, taking off on a 31-yard run to the end zone midway through the period. Weston then scored on a four-yard run to give the Royals a 42-0 halftime lead. Hugo Belmonte made all six extra-point kicks in the half, and he would make a seventh after Brennan Baker punched the ball in from the one in the third quarter.
Braeden Totten added a touchdown less than a minute into the fourth quarter to complete the HSE scoring. Trent Smith made the extra-point kick.
Wallace finished the game with 139 yards rushing, while Weston went 8-for-11, totaling 63 yards.
The Royals are 8-2 and host Fishers next Friday for the Sectional 3 championship.
