Sheridan advanced to the championship game of Class 1A Sectional 45 by defeating Tindley 54-6 in a Friday semifinal game at Bud Wright Stadium.
The Blackhawks scored on the very first play of the game: Zach Bales ran 69 yards into the end zone for a touchdown. That was the first of five touchdowns for Sheridan in the first quarter.
Eli Kolb ran a score in from 45 yards, Bales took a 14-yard trip for his second TD, Nolan Page ran 19 yards for a score, and Owen Bell connected with Trent DeCraene for a 40-yard scoring pass with 10 seconds left in the period. Bell also made all five extra-point kicks.

The ‘Hawks continued to roll in the second quarter. Kolb made a 47-yard dash into the end zone midway through the period, Bales took off on a 42-yard touchdown run with a minute before halftime, and Bell and DeCraene scored on a 39-yard throw that was the final play of the half. Bell kicked an extra point after Kolb’s touchdown.
Bales finished with 131 yards rushing in seven carries, while DeCraene’s four catches amounted to 102 yards. Sheridan’s defense played exceptional, holding Tindley to two yards rushing.
The Blackhawks are 8-3 and play next Friday at Monroe Central for the Sectional 45 championship.
