Softball: Shamrocks fall to Pendleton Heights

The Westfield softball team dropped a 13-5 home game to Pendleton Heights on Thursday.
The Arabians led 13-0 in the middle of the fifth inning. The Shamrocks scored all of their runs in the bottom of the fifth, starting when Mya Hughes got home after Samantha Breaux drew a bases-loaded walk.
With two outs, Ava Kainrath hit a left field double to send Maggie Roh and Avery Parker home. Allie Dolenc followed that out with a double to score Breaux and Kainrath.
Roh, Kainrath, Dolenc and Hughes each had two hits, with Roh also getting a double. Morgan Squires pitched six and two-thirds innings, striking out six.
Westfield is 2-2 and is off until April 12 when it plays at Brownsburg.
