The Fishers softball team dropped an away game to Mount Vernon 6-3 on Thursday.
Victoria Abel scored the Tigers’ first run in the fourth inning when Taylor Duplessis reached on error. Fishers added two runs in the fifth inning: Sophie Schoch hit a single to bring in Azstryd Alexander and Brooke Johnson.
Schoch finished the game with two hits.
The Tigers are 7-4 and host Zionsville Friday in a Hoosier Crossroads Conference game.

Sheridan dropped a roller-coaster game to Tri-Central 17-10 Thursday in a road Hoosier Heartland Conference contest.
The Blackhawks put up six runs in the top of the first inning. Mariana Lopez tripled in Maelei Casler for Sheridan’s first run. Lopez and Emma Settles both stole home plate to give the ‘Hawks a 3-0 lead, then Ashlynn Tryon doubled in Abbi Merritt. Claudia Headlee smacked a double to score Tryon, then Shelby Eaton’s left field hit brought Headlee home.
The Trojans cut the lead to 6-2 after two innings. In the third inning, Casler cracked a double into center field to score Jacquellynne Bates, Tryon and Eaton and put Sheridan up 9-2. A three-run home run in the bottom of the third brought Tri-Central within 9-5, and the Trojans scored another run in the fourth.
Bates scored in the top of the fifth on a wild pitch, and the Blackhawks’ lead was 10-6. But Tri-Central took over after that, scoring 11 runs over the next two innings.
Casler and Lopez both had three hits, including a double for Lopez, with Bates and Tryon each getting two. Bates pitched four innings and Settles threw two, both had four strikeouts.
Sheridan is 1-13 and plays Monday at Guerin Catholic.

Westfield dropped a 10-3 game at Yorktown on Thursday.
The Tigers led 8-0 after four innings. The Shamrocks got on the board in the fifth inning; Cara Snedeker singled into left field, then went home after Grace Fanelli hit a home run into left field. Samantha Breaux led off the sixth inning with another left field home run.
Breaux and Snedeker both had two hits; Snedeker, Maggie Roh and Grace Feltz each hit one double.
Westfield is 7-8 and hosts Lawrence North on Monday.

Carmel fell to Tri-West 7-0 in a Thursday road game.
Lily Sullivan was 3-for-3 for the Greyhounds, who are 2-10 and host Cathedral on Wednesday.
