On Monday, a small electrical fire in the Dolce Daycare and Preschool, 7255 E. 116th St., Fishers, displaced 75 children and 20 care givers.
The fire inside the daycare had power shut off to the building while firefighters and Fishers police officers assisted caregivers in moving the kids to ambulances and vehicles initially. Children were soon after taken to Apex Taekwondo behind the daycare for sheltering until parents could be contacted and children could be picked up.
Other business in the strip mall also assisted by bringing drinks, blankets and snacks for the kids.
No injuries were reported and fire damage was minimal. As of press time, the cause of the fire had not been determined.
