Sheriff’s deputy recovers stolen car, arrests one

At approximately 2:50 a.m. Thursday, a deputy from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office on patrol in the area of State Road 37 and 126th Street found a vehicle reported stolen from the Fishers area.

When the deputy activated emergency equipment to stop the car, the vehicle fled the area. A short pursuit ensued with the occupants of the vehicle leaving the car at Heritage Park, near Eller Road and 106th Street. One subject, reported to be a passenger in the vehicle, was apprehended on foot a short time later. The subject was taken by Fishers Police to their agency for an interview.

Deputies and officers were unable to detain any other occupants at the scene and no descriptions of the subjects were available.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Fishers Police Department, Noblesville Police Department, Carmel Police Department and Carmel Fire Department.
