Since 2024 began, the Sheridan Lions Club has been roaring forward. A myriad of guest speakers, planning and executing fundraisers and donating to the Sheridan Community has kept the local service organization on its toes.

Its first major fundraiser of the year takes place this Saturday, March 16, when the Lions host their annual Mark Sims Memorial Pancake Breakfast. This year’s breakfast will be held in the Sheridan High School cafeteria from 7 to 10 a.m. Free-will offerings will be accepted and appreciated.

Plans are also underway for the Lions’ annual pork loin dinner, which will be held April 20. Tickets are now available from any Lions Club member. They are $11 for adults, $5 for children and children under age 3 eat free. The Lions will partner with Phi Beta Psi, and proceeds will help fight cancer.

Recent guest speakers include District Governor Julia Kozicki of Noblesville, Brittany Lozier Moon, and Reed Fish.

Local club members praised Kozicki for her positive, upbeat presentation, while Lozier Moon, a teacher in Zionsville Community Schools, introduced members to EEA of Noblesville, Chapter 57. Its purpose is to get young people involved in aviation.

Fish, of the Speedway Lions Club, is a candidate for International Director.

The Sheridan Lions Club is always on the lookout for new members interested in serving the Sheridan Community.
