Sheridan High School’s new “Blackhawk Nest” enters Phase 2

Submitted by Sheridan Community Schools

Over the summer, Sheridan Community Schools was hard at work making Sheridan a better place to be, learn, and grow. One of the new areas of learning and gathering was The Nest, located directly across from the cafeteria.

While the area has been open to students to gather and study, and also for use as a meeting space, it is now ready to expand into Phase 2.  Phase 2 will introduce a drink menu and “expand opportunities in this student-centered space,” according to Sheridan High School Principal Rick Davis.

By the end of the week, The Nest will have a soft opening that will allow students and staff to begin to purchase refreshments such as coffee, lemonade, and smoothies before school.

Just like a lunch account, these items utilize the same funds, with cash also being accepted.

This new phase is just the next step for the space, as it hopes to become a welcoming and inviting area in which the students and staff can thrive.
