Sheridan girls score comeback victory

Sheridan made a fourth-quarter comeback on Tuesday to beat Western 44-42 at Hobbs Memorial Gymnasium.
Playing their first home game since Nov. 26, the Blackhawks were tied at 11-11 after the first quarter, with Allie Delph scoring seven points. The Panthers led 26-22 at halftime and 34-31 after three periods, but Sheridan outscored Western 13-8 in the fourth to get the victory.
Delph finished the game with 14 points, including a 7-of-8 effort from the free-throw line. Delph made 5 of 6 in the third quarter to help keep the ‘Hawks within striking distance of the Panthers. Emma Went scored 11, including seven in the fourth quarter.
Delph and Riley Reed both collected seven rebounds, while Delph also made four steals.
Sheridan is 5-7 and goes back on the road Friday to play a Hoosier Heartland Conference game at Eastern.
