On Monday, May 11, Sheridan Community Schools (SCS) recognized two individuals for their dedicated service to the district.
Charlotte Snodgrass and Eric Gifford are two individuals who put the district and the students at the forefront. Their dedication not only to the success of students but also to the well-being of all those at SCS will be forever missed.
Charlotte Snodgrass
Valerie Roberts, Sheridan Elementary School (SES) Principal, shared, “Charlotte has been the heart of care and kindness at our school for so many years.”
Snodgrass takes care of SES students each day as the school nurse. But she has done countless little things that have made a big difference. She is always the last to leave our office after charting and entering data. She hangs and organizes the lost and found. She washes coats, hats, gloves, and clothes for students in need. She tends to the front landscape and even adds her personal touch with beautiful flowers.
“She always steps in whenever help is needed,” Roberts said. “Her sweet spirit, gentle heart, and servant attitude have touched so many lives. Charlotte’s kindness and friendship to all of us will be deeply missed, and we are so grateful for the love and care she gave to our school community!”
Eric Gifford
SCS Superintendent Dave Mundy said that Eric Gifford will be greatly missed because of his unwavering dedication to the school district. Mundy noted that Gifford was once a Sheridan student himself, and the fact that he chose to spend his entire career serving SCS speaks volumes about the strong sense of community within the school corporation.
Gifford began his career with SCS in 2009 as a bus driver before moving into transportation and later leading the grounds crew. Throughout his years of service, he consistently prioritized the safety and well-being of students, often waking early during the winter mornings to help ensure they got to school safely. He is deeply respected and loved by both bus drivers and students alike, carrying out his work each day with grace, dignity, and care. He will truly be missed by the entire Sheridan community.
