Westfield finished its regular season Tuesday with an incredible shooting performance from Trey Buchanan and a victory at Frankfort.
The Shamrocks beat the Hot Dogs 59-32. Westfield got off to a tremendous start, leading 19-2 after the first quarter. Westfield then outscored Frankfort in each of the next three periods.
Buchanan started the game red hot, draining five 3-pointers in the first quarter, and making a pair of free throws for 17 points. Buchanan threw in three more triples in the second quarter and another two in the third period, giving him a total of 10 3s. He finished the game with 32 points.
Alex Romack added 10 points, including six in the fourth quarter. Drew Haffner came off the bench in the fourth and made two more 3s; a third-quarter triple from will Harvey gave the ‘Rocks 13 for the game.
Westfield is 15-7 and travels to Carmel on Tuesday to play the Greyhounds in the first round of Sectional 8.
