Ronnie Dale Carmack, a loving family man, passed away on November 12, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on March 15, 1943, in Memphis, Tenn., he was a man who knew no strangers and enjoyed talking to people everywhere he went.

Ronnie spent his life in dedicated service to his family and his community, always ready with a helping hand or a kind word. He resided in Atlanta, Ind., where he filled his home with love, laughter, and the aroma of his famous French fries, a favorite among his cherished grandchildren.

Ronnie was a hardworking man, dedicating 42 years of his life to his work as a truck driver with US Foods before retiring in 2006. His love for vehicles extended beyond his work, as seen in his passion for NASCAR racing and his youthful days racing stock cars. Ronnie also possessed a musical talent, playing the trumpet in his youth and performing TAPS for many veterans’ services. Ronnie also served as a volunteer fireman, over 20 years with the Jackson Township Fire Department. Ronnie’s hobbies included running track in his youth, resulting in numerous high school medals, meticulously maintaining his yard, and taking great joy in watching his grandchildren after school.

Ronnie married the love of his life, Jean Carmack, on December 11, 1971, and their 54-year union was filled with mutual respect, admiration, and unconditional love. Their shared journey of life blessed them with two children, Steven (Tina) Carmack and Cheryl Chapman. Ronnie was a loving grandfather to Noah and Kaya Chapman, Baylie, Zoey, and Landyn Carmack, and great-grandson Paulie. He is also survived by his brothers, Lannie (Valerie) Carmack and Gary (Lynette) Carmack. Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Jewell Carmack.
