Rocks ride momentum to rough up Raiders

Westfield got off to a tremendous start Tuesday against Harrison and rode that momentum to a 73-55 victory over Harrison at CSI Gymnasium.

The Class 4A No. 4 Shamrocks blasted through the first quarter, leading 28-14. Six different players scored for Westfield, with Trey Buchanan nailing two 3-pointers on his way to eight points. Westfield led 44-29 at halftime, with Will Harvey totaling 12 points for the first half (seven in the second quarter). The ‘Rocks turned it up again in the third quarter, outscoring the Raiders 19-9. Buchanan added another 17 points.

Harvey led the scoring with 18 points, while Buchanan totaled 15. Nic Book scored 10 points.

Westfield is 15-2 and hosts Hamilton Heights on Friday.
