On Friday, Congresswoman Susan W. Brooks (R-Ind.-05) voted in support of H.R. 1327, the Never Forget the Heroes: James Zadroga, Ray Pfeifer, and Luis Alvarez Permanent Authorization of the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund Act, a bill she proudly cosponsors.

“Without hesitation, first responders from around the country, including Task Force 1 from Indiana, heroically rushed into burning buildings and extremely dangerous situations in hopes to save lives during a time of horror and terror. Although almost 18 years have passed since that unforgettable day, the survivors of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, continue to suffer from injuries and illnesses caused by exposure to toxins at Ground Zero, the Pentagon and Shanksville. On behalf of the tens of thousands of responders and survivors of these attacks, as well as the surviving family members of those who lost their lives, I am proud the House of Representatives overwhelmingly voted to provide these individuals with compensation for needed recovery efforts.”
