Registration open for Westfield Washington Public Library’s Summer Reading Program

Registration is now open for the Westfield Washington Public Library’s (WWPL) 2026 Summer Reading Program, “Unearth A Story.” The eight-week program officially begins Monday, June 1 and runs through July 31. Readers of all ages are encouraged to participate.

“We’re inviting families to make the library part of their summer,” WWPL Summer Reading Program Coordinator Sara Perry said. “The Summer Reading Program is a great chance to discover new books, enjoy activities, and spend time together at the library.”

Participants can track their reading and listening minutes through Beanstack online or by using the Beanstack mobile app. Readers who complete 40 hours between June 1 and July 31 will be eligible for prize drawings donated by local businesses. Incentive prizes will be awarded at sign-up, midway through the program, and upon completion.

For every two hours read or listened to, participants will earn a virtual badge and ticket that can be entered into prize drawings through Beanstack. Winners will be selected beginning Aug. 1.

In addition to reading challenges, the library will host numerous events and programs funded by this year’s presenting sponsor, STAR Financial Bank. A few of this summer’s activities include the Foam Happy Party, The Whalemobile, and Feller Express LLC with life-size dinosaurs. A special thanks also goes out to the Friends of the Westfield Library and the Westfield Library Foundation for their support of the Summer Reading Program.

“We love seeing the library full of families during the summer,” Westfield Library Foundation Executive Director Erin Downey said. “It’s really special to help support programs and events that give kids and families something fun to look forward to.”
