Dear Noblesville Community,

My name is Tina Lam. I’m a recent 2026 graduate of Noblesville, and my parents have been business owners for over 13 years. I spent my K-12 through the Noblesville district, and now my younger siblings are entering elementary school with the same educators I had.

It breaks my heart seeing the community split over the referendum. As a first-time voter, I’ll be checking yes. Every voice deserves a chance, and I will be encouraging my peers to do the same. I was lucky enough to be a part of the East and High school orchestra, take AP classes, obtain a CNA license, and stack dual enrollment credits for university. All of these activities without my parents or I having to spend more than small fees. My biggest hope is that my siblings will grow up and enjoy the same experiences I did.

I understand that the message of taxes is frightening. I had this conversation with my parents, who just bought their first home in June. But it’s beyond a few dollars a month, it’s securing futures for the next child.

More people need to understand that it’s beyond money. This is a child’s future, an educators lifelong goal on the line. My mom frequently sees my old educators at work, and they always ask how I’m doing. Now I worry, will the people who helped shape me have their future secured?

I’m currently studying Nursing at IU Indy, and I still live in Noblesville just 5 minutes away from downtown. Thank you Noblesville Schools, and thank you to the town of Noblesville. I wouldn’t be here without the support of my community.

To anyone reading, thank you for your time.

Tina Lam
