The Carmel Clay Historical Society invites the public to join them at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 11 in front of Carmel High School’s (CHS) cafeteria. There will be a centennial celebration of the two evergreens that were planted during the construction of the 1921 Carmel High School building known as “Old North.”

There will be a brief program with historical pictures, memories of former students who attended Old North, and an unveiling of a bronze plaque donated by the CHS Class of 1971 in honor of their 50th class reunion. Carmel was recently recognized as Tree City USA for the 25th year. These evergreens are among the city’s most historic trees.

The public is cordially invited to join the celebration and share their memories of Old North.
