Hello, I’m Jocelyn Vare. I’ve been a resident of Fishers for more than 20 years. I’m a mom, small business owner, city council member, and community volunteer who is very motivated to help make Indiana better.
You may have never voted for a Democrat before. That’s okay. But Indiana’s state government has never been this extreme before. The current supermajority has controlled our state government for 10 years now and they keep getting more extreme on every issue. Instead of working to improve Hoosiers’ lives, Indiana’s supermajority is making life harder for all of us.
The supermajority made life harder for Hoosier women this summer by banning abortion access and depriving us autonomy over our own bodies and healthcare decisions. The supermajority has also failed to act on many other true needs of Hoosiers. Decreasing gun violence, taxes, healthcare costs, and childcare costs can no longer be put on the back burner.
If you live in Fishers and believe that our state needs a course correction, please know that I am the only State Senate candidate on your ballot with a record of moderating a supermajority. On Fishers City Council, I have worked with a Republican supermajority to deliver solutions for neighbors. I also know how to hold a supermajority accountable when it is out of control.
You can count on me to listen to you and work to:
- Repeal Indiana’s extreme abortion ban
- Pass sensible gun legislation, including the repeal of “permitless carry”
- Strengthen our public schools
- Demonstrate true fiscal responsibility to stop overtaxing and underserving Hoosiers
- Address Indiana’s high healthcare and childcare costs
